Today's Blog is discussing how the Hunt Library at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical (ERAU) is a good location for finding information to support my scholarly studies.
The Hunt Library is a collection of information for students, staff, and faculty associated with Embry Riddle Aeronautical University. This online source has a variety of sections including a informational, services, and help options.
Information
The information collection of information contains books, including E-book options, databased of articles, DVD's/Videos and online text reports from stake holders such as the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) or the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB), which can be beneficial for a student in research or faculty in instruction. Along with this available information, is a Scholarly Commonly section which includes material that has been prepared by students, faculty or staff of the university.
Library Services
The Library
Services section of the Hunt Library is service based, providing services for student to check out books or materials. The service section also manages the borrow/loan program which allow students to borrow material form other learning facilities associated with ERAU. The library has over 5,000 electronic DVD's covering a large variety of educational content. Additional to managing the library services, they provide support for audiovisual requests for classroom usage, and laptop check out for faulty and staff.
The help section is very similar to other help sections of a website. There is a search and contact information that is available to students, faculty and staff. One valuable option is the library provides a basic training on how to use the library, which can be beneficial to a new student who is using the website for the first time.
Help Section
Scholarly in Nature
I my opinion the Hunt Library is very resourceful as a student. I am working on my third collegiate degree from ERAU, and I have used this website of database data for a good portion of my prior research and reports. I have not used the borrow/loan option, as this is something I did not know was available. If I had known this, I probably could have saved allot of money in the amount of books I have purchased.
As a student, the Hunt Library is more scholarly than the website in many ways. My opinion is as a student, is I can fine more relevant information about research, especially in Aviation. The difference between the Hunt Library in general search on the internet, is that is subject based, and I can find more documents, research reports, or data reports that pertain to the research. On the internet, I find it harder to find immediate data for research.
